INTERFAITH WEEK 2023

NMYC, BRAHMA KUMARIS UK AND HARROW INTERFAITH COLLABORATION

01

On Saturday, 18th November, we organised youth-led round table discussions at the Global Cooperation House in London, in collaboration with the Brahma Kumaris UK and Harrow Interfaith. These discussions explored the intersections of social action and faith. The event included thoughtful discussions, guided meditation sessions, and lots of FREE FOOD. Topics for the roundtables included refugee narratives, personal strength and resilience, mediating our reactions on social media, leadership in times of conflict, and managing eco-anxiety.

NMYC AND UNIVERSITY OF SUSSEX COLLABORATION

02

On the Wednesday of Interfaith Week, we ran a private interfaith workshop led by Professor Chris Stedman, taking place at the University of Sussex on 15th November. Following the workshop, NMYC, in collaboration with the University of Sussex Chaplaincy, hosted a public lecture with Professor Chris Stedman. Both the private workshop and the evening lecture were on the topic of "Building Bridges Between Believers, Nonbelievers, and Everyone In Between."

NMYC AND UNION OF JEWISH STUDENTS COLLABORATION

03

We invited students from diverse faith backgrounds to collaborate with NMYC. We asked them to create two short 30-second videos, each highlighting a significant food and religious item within your faith tradition. These videos were shared on UJS and NMYC social media platforms, helping educate others about different faith practices. Also, this year marked a special interfaith week event where Jewish students embarked on a unique journey to explore the oldest Gurdwara in Europe.

NMYC AND MUSEUM OF LONDON COLLABORATION

04

During Interfaith Week, we continued our Young Faith Historians program by hosting a dedicated event for the week. Our Young Faith Historians are actively crafting a compelling video showcasing the rich tapestry of faith in London. This captivating visual narrative will be prominently featured at the new London Museum, ensuring that the diverse stories and experiences of faith in the city are preserved and celebrated for years to come.

INTERFAITH WEEK 2022

For #InterfaithWeek2022, we ran an in-person event at the Museum of London titled: "Faith Collections Community Open Day: An Exclusive Look at the New Museum’s Faith Display Plans". We had an exclusive look at plans for the Future of Faith display at the New London Museum! Attendees spoke with the museum team and shared their thoughts on the museum's faith objects.

We also organised a student takeover collaboration with the Union of Jewish Students on our Instagram Pages. We asked students across the country from different faith backgrounds questions about how they celebrate festivals, challenges with practicing faith on campus and what their faith means to them.
