TACKLING HATE CRIME ON CAMPUS
Expressing deep concern over the recent surge in Islamophobia and anti-Semitism on campus, we are steadfastly committed to collaborating with students to promote religious harmony and inclusivity within academic settings. University campuses should be welcoming places for everyone, regardless of their faith or belief.
Currently, we are working with St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace Venue to develop a program focusing on the significance of Student Allyship in tackling Islamophobia and anti-Semitism on campus. This initiative includes understanding the lived experiences of students who have suffered religious and racial discrimination on campus and empowers everyone to become allies, actively working against unjust prejudice and intolerance. At the core of our approach is the belief that everyone has a responsibility to help support their fellow student colleagues in addressing these issues.
