MULTIFAITH CHAPLAINCY INDEX (MCI)

We are in the process of creating the Multifaith Chaplaincy Index. The purpose of the MCI is to aid students involved with the NMYC in their access of university chaplaincy services, as well as to function as a resource for chaplaincies to learn from one another. We are currently on Stage 1 of building the MCI and are getting in touch with university chaplaincies across the UK to begin collecting information to add to the database.

Currently the MCI is only a general list of chaplaincy services across the country. We are looking to add in-depth interviews with Chaplins discussing their work and other key information. Please contact NMYC on info@nmycentre.org if you require further information on the MCI.

UK-WIDE MULTIFAITH
CHAPLAINCY NETWORK

This year, we are starting to work with chaplaincies across the UK to develop multifaith relationships amongst students sharing resources on bi-monthly calls. We are also developing events and activities with chaplaincies - check out our event booklet with SOAS for the 2023/24 academic year.

UNIVERSITY MULTIFAITH CHAPLAINCY

Multifaith chaplaincies are a vital resource for students from diverse communities seeking spiritual, emotional, and social support. These chaplaincies are typically staffed by trained professionals from a variety of faith backgrounds who provide a non-judgmental and confidential space for individuals to explore and discuss their beliefs, values, and life experiences.

Multifaith chaplaincies are open to individuals of all faiths, as well as those who do not identify with any particular religion. They provide a safe and inclusive environment for individuals to engage in discussions and activities aimed at promoting interfaith dialogue, understanding, and respect.

In addition to offering individual counseling and support, multifaith chaplaincies often provide opportunities for group worship, prayer, meditation, and other spiritual practices. They may also organize social events, community service projects, and other activities aimed at fostering a sense of belonging and connection among members of the community.

Overall, multifaith chaplaincies serve as a valuable resource for individuals seeking spiritual and emotional support, as well as a platform for promoting interfaith dialogue and understanding in diverse communities.
